Purpose of the position
As Manager Business Development and Market Analysis, you will
- Be part of the Commercial Cockpit (integrated in Network Planning and Revenue Management Department) and support the decision making process of Brussels Airlines’ Commercial Committee.
- Provide performance, competition and market analysis and present to Brussels Airlines’ commercial departments and senior management.
- Coordinate commercial actions and projects internally and towards the Lufthansa Group (LHG), including the Africa Competence Centre.
- Steer Brussels Airlines’ sales performance and set up action plans with Revenue Management, Network, Sales, Marketing to address budget gaps.
- Develop monitoring and reporting dashboards.
Your tasks
Monitor Brussels Airlines revenues and commercial KPIs
Continuous monitoring, analysis and interpretation of the global Brussels Airlines’ results and market positioning, identifying deviations to targets.
Main activities
- Build up dashboards and reporting on Brussels Airlines’ performance.
- Monitor competitive situation and evaluate market trends.
- In-depth gap analysis through industry standard methods.
Steer and initiate corrective actions to optimize Brussels Airlines revenues and profitability
Trigger commercial actions for corrective measures where needed & in coordination with LHG Commercial Departments (Revenue Management, Network, Sales, Online, Marketing). Follow up of measures & actions.
Main activities
- Stakeholder management on working and executive level.
- Determine and align on required measures with commercial interfaces.
- Coordination and follow up of actions and reporting to senior management.
Deliver Ad hoc reports and presentations
Elaborate ad hoc reports & carry out presentations according to Brussels Airlines’ Commercial Committee needs.
Main activities
- Elaborate clear reports and presentations to deliver insights and recommendations upon senior management request.
- Present findings to Brussels Airlines’ Commercial Committee / senior management.
- Provide statistical support to the Commercial Department.
Participate in Global and Local projects including the Lufthansa Group Africa Competence Centre
Take on key role in projects of strategic importance for Brussels Airlines and Lufthansa Group. Be an active member of the LHG Africa Competence Centre.
Main activities
- Project ownership on key commercial topics.
- Data analysis and presentations to support Brussels Airlines/LHG projects.
Your profile
- Bachelor degree preferably in economics/business/science or equivalent experience.
- Preferably 3 years working experience.
- Tourism/airline industry background is a plus.
- Experience in analytical positions and reporting.
- Excellent knowledge of English (spoken and written) is mandatory.
- Excellent mastery of Excel and Powerpoint.
- Knowledge of Tableau/Spotfire reporting system and airline reservation system is a plus.
- Analytical and presentation skills.
- Able to summarize complex topics into tangible content and recommendations.
