Who are we looking for?

The function of Assistant Duty Manager is two-fold, one part is linked to the passenger coordination cell in which the supervisor functions as a team member and as such is directly involved and gives recommendations in the ops decision making process related to the passenger aspect. He/she will assess and decide about cost-beneficial solutions within the operational & commercial framework achieving a win-win situation for all parties involved. They will assist the Duty Manager in analysing, deciding and executing the process of actions to be taken throughout all the departments involved (internal and external) and assure correct and complete irregularity handling.

The second aspect is the on-the-field job in which the supervisor functions as airport coordinator, supervising and coordinating the operations at the airport. He/she acts as representative of the airline towards the passengers. Thus taking commercial and operational decisions in an independent way. In this capacity he/she intervenes in conflict situations.

 

Main tasks & responsibilities

  • Daily follow-up of in- & outbound flights -schedules, catering, aircraft seating versions, passenger numbers which results in optimized rotations both on an operational as on a cost/revenue basis. They will instruct all staff accordingly and function as the communication center and assure follow-up of the correct implementation. The Assistant Duty Manager will decide on any solutions needed to assure punctuality and cost effectiveness in close cooperation with the Duty Manager.
  • Irregularity handling: rebooking & rerouting of passengers both BRU & outstations. They will evaluate, decide and execute all necessary steps to be taken, both with BRU and outstations. At the same time the Assistant Duty Manager acts as s.p.o.c (single point of contact) for the different operational & commercial reporting lines to assure complete and accurate communication to all involved. He/She will decide on passengers solutions of commercial or operational decisions, they will contact , inform and take care of the passengers affected. Updating of the different operational systems with information linked to the aircraft rotations to assure all suppliers & handlers have the latest information allowing punctual and correct departures & arrivals.
  • In case of lost connection he/she is responsible for re-accommodation of the passengers.
  • Communication with aircraft ready to land, through VHF or ACARS, informing crew about parking positions, next flights, special cases and transfer passengers on board into BRU as to assure smooth turnarounds within the minimum ground times assuring swift and efficient flows. He/she provides transfer information for passengers in order to facilitate necessary transfers on ground.
  • The Assistant Duty Manager sets priorities on all incoming messages. He/she functions as a helpdesk, informing, instructing and advising all Outstations on the different operational & commercial procedures to follow. They will decide on ad-hoc solutions in line with commercial and operational guidelines to assure all outstations compliance and execution with any instruction given by the passenger-coordinator cell.
  • The Assistant Duty Manager reports on a daily basis on all operational and commercial issues to all departments. He/she also provides detailed info concerning specific delays ; this is used as feedback to higher management. He/she will also be responsible for the day to day delay setting.
  • On the field the he/she is responsible for the supervision and organization of the operations flow at the airport. He/she will collaborate with different parties (ATO, OCC, other airlines) to optimize efficient and correct exchange of information. He/she resolves independently problems and conflict situations. He/she can waive penalties and gives compensations in order to preserve 100% customer satisfaction.
  • The Assistant Duty Manager will manage, supervise and organise ATO.
  • People Management is key in the role of Assistant Duty Manager. Evaluations and coaching are included in this function.

We are looking for a talented Compliance Monitoring Auditor to support our protection management with technical expertise in assuring the safe and compliant operation of our fleet.

This is a dynamic position combining technical oversight, regulatory interpretation, cross-departmental collaboration and proactive safety engagement to help uphold the highest standards of airworthiness, operational integrity and continuous improvement within our organization.

The compliance monitoring auditor will perform independent monitoring, act as a technical investigator and contribute to our Safety Management System.

Compliance Monitoring CAMO (60%)

  • Assist Compliance Monitoring Manager in establishing the audit scopes to ensure that all relevant EASA requirements (Part-M, Part-CAMO, Part-145), international standards (IOSA Section 4 MNT), Lufthansa Group policies and Brussels Airlines procedures are assessed.
  • Plan, prepare and conduct internal audits within CAMO to evaluate compliance with relevant EASA requirements, international standards and company procedures
  • Plan, prepare, and conduct audits of contracted maintenance organizations (MROs) to verify conformity with applicable airworthiness and safety requirements as well as to ensure adherence to contractual obligations
  • Participate in audits conducted by external parties (BCAA, IATA, LHG…) within CAMO and provide expertise in addressing the findings
  • Cooperate closely and advise CAMO management on compliance monitoring issues and best practices

Compliance Monitoring general (20%)

  • Plan and conduct internal audits in the domains where technical knowledge would be necessary to evaluate compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and company standards
  • Identify and record findings and opportunities for improvement and provide the evidence necessary to substantiate such findings, and follow up with the relevant stakeholders.

Safety Management CAMO (20%)

  • Provide technical expertise to Safety Investigators, conduct interviews with CAMO personnel involved in incidents / occurrences, identify safety recommendations and findings, and monitor the implementation of corrective actions
  • Conduct safety audits
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement and effectiveness of the Safety Management System and to the development of the Safety Performance Indicators relevant to CAMO

The Compliance Monitoring team plays a vital role in supporting safe and compliant operations through independent oversight.

Your profile

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a driven Flying Station Engineer to strengthen our Maintenance & Engineering team. The FSE is responsible to ensure the technical handling of our aircraft in all his aspects in outside stations and/or conveying flights and to return this aircraft to Brussels in accordance with all maintenance procedure and rules from Brussels Airlines technical department. The FSE must try to solve any operational or technical issue to protect our operation in the best possible time.

Conveying flight to our African destinations

  • Accompanying the flight from the homebase airport till the return of this flight at the homebase.
  • Providing technical assistance to the aircraft for the duration of the conveying flight, including all stops.

Duty in our African outstations

  • Remaining in outstation on arrival of the Brussels Airlines flight on the location of the outstation for 1 or more consecutive days to take the responsibility for performing technical assistance to the aircraft at landing and departure in this outstation.
  • Accompanying the flight departing at an airport different than the homebase and arriving at an airport different than the homebase. The FSE is responsible for providing technical assistance to the aircraft for the duration of the conveying flight, including all stops, and in accordance with the regulations and applicable procedures.

Aircraft maintenance

  • Execute regular routine inspections according to instructions during base maintenance.
  • Controlling of the required inspections after maintenance and repair.
  • Interprets and analyzes technical issues, conducts troubleshooting, advises aircraft technician with restorations and engineering with preventive measures.
  • Follow-up Troubleshooting.
  • Solving of eTLB (Aircraft Technical Logbook Problems).
  • Deliver a release to Service in a conscientious, fast and quality manner.
  • Fill in A/C documents in a correct way and enter technical logs in AMOS.
  • Perform all tasks in accordance with the regulations and applicable internal procedures.
  • Take care of the maintenance of ground equipment material (cars, tools) and workplaces.

Supporting tasks in outstation

  • Supervision of the refueling procedure.
  • Inspect outstation parts/tooling/GSE.

GSE / Shop Technician

Purpose of the position

 

Within the Brussels Airlines Maintenance team, you will disassemble, service and assemble aircraft components covered by the Brussels Airlines component shop capability and replace parts if necessary.  All maintenance is performed within stringent norms of tolerance and precision, according to established procedures and using the approved and calibrated tools and equipment.

Preventive and curative maintenance on ground support equipment in compliance with the equipment manufacturer specification. Providing assistance to production by handling non-aircraft related tasks, such as towing, engine preparation before installation or shipping, and other non-aircraft operational.

 

 

Your tasks

Aircraft component maintenance: 

  • Ensure that the safety and quality standards as set by the company are obtained
  • Executes disassembly, assembly and overhaul works on component related items according to a Component Capability List following the technical documentation of the component manufacturer
  • Administer a compliant set of reporting (shop visit reports) and follow up measures. Administer inventory and stock of spare-parts in the component shop and order in time additional items

 

Ground support equipment maintenance: 

  • Executes disassembly, servicing and assembly works on ground support equipment following the technical documentation of the equipment manufacturer
  • Assisting in tooling management
  • Any other duty as may be required by the production manager for the safe and punctual departure of the fleet

 

Assistance for non-aircraft related tasks: 

  • Assist production in general non-aircraft related tasks.
  • Perform Aircraft towing related to Aircraft Maintenance.
  • Assist in engine preparation before engine installation or shipping.

 

Your profile

  • Technical Secondary Education level A2 Electric, Electromechanics, Mechanic or equivalent by experience.
  • Experience in aircraft or component maintenance is an asset.
  • Technical knowledge and experience with A/C structures and components not required but is an asset.
  • Mastery of technical English.
  • Ability to approach a situation or problem in a structured, methodological and logical way.
  • Knowledgeable in the essential functions of MS Office products (word, excel) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of AMOS is a plus.
  • Team player.
  • Very precise and detailed approach.
  • Ability to take initiative on a given task and persist with the task to its completion.
  • Planning and organization of own work.

  • Keeping close collaboration with the engineering department and aircraft engineers, providing them with advice and/or solutions in order to minimize downtime and cost.
  • Performing sheet metal and/or composite shop work on aircraft parts and provide the associated administration in accordance with the BA scope and EASA part 145 rules.
  • Makes sure that level of the cabin shop meets the EASA 145 requirements by guarding cleanliness, tools, equipment and stock.
  • Monitoring and following up on the state of the maintenance of the ground equipment material as well as of your working environment

Your profile

  • A3 obtained in a technical school
  • Holder of an approved Certificate indicating he followed a sheet metal and/or composite course or showing experience in sheet metal and/or composite repairs
  • Ability to approach a situation or problem in a structured, methodological and logical way
  • Proficient in English, knowledge of French/Dutch is a plus
  • Knowledge of AMOS is a plus.

Support the M&E Training Team to create efficient and effective training by using the most appropriate training methods to respond to the different needs, ensuring that all technical staff is trained in line with authority regulations.

Main tasks & responsibilities

Training Responsibilities:

  • Conduct internal training sessions on key regulatory and operational topics, including MOE, CAME, Human Factors, etc.
  • Develop, update and tailor training materials to suit various learning styles and needs, ensuring effective knowledge transfer for both theoretical and practical applications.
  • Conduct both theoretical and practical training sessions related to aircraft cabin systems, ensuring hands-on learning opportunities for maintenance personnel.
  • Oversee the implementation and completion of training programs for cabin technicians, ensuring that all employees meet the required certification standards.
  • Compile questions for examination banks, ensuring assessments accurately reflect the required knowledge levels and regulatory standards.
  • Update and maintain the training database, ensuring accessibility and accuracy of training records.
  • Maintain and update the certification database, ensuring all training records and qualifications remain current and in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and manage Computer-Based Training (CBT) modules, ensuring all digital training content is up-to-date and aligned with regulatory and company standards.
  • Ensure training sessions and examinations are conducted in a manner that complies with all relevant requirements.

  • Oversee internship programs, introducing and mentoring cabin trainees throughout their career development program at Brussels Airlines.
  • Provide structured training and onboarding programs for newly hired cabin technicians, monitoring their progress through different stages of their career.

Purpose of the position

Follow-up & coordination on technical troubleshooting requirements in the daily operation of the Brussels Airlines fleet whilst taking ownership of non-standard troubleshooting or complex technical irregularities. Monitor aircraft & predictive systems to prevent recurrency, negative trends or AOG risks.

The Trouble Shooter, reports to the CAMO MCC Manager (functional) & to the P145 Planning Manager (disciplinary)

Your responsibilities

  • Performs trouble shooting services in accordance with the MOE, CAME, Pro X, OEM data & in compliance to NAA & EASA regulations.
  • Ensures communication links between the P145 Operation Manager, MCC Manager, Maintenance Controller (MCC), Engineering, Planning, Training & Maintenance Engineers.
  • Performs ad-hoc and in-depth troubleshooting with a systematic approach (eg. ad-hoc shop visit report screening).
  • Provides technical assistance to flight crew and maintenance staff.
  • Coordinates all received information regarding technical problems in the daily operation.
  • Monitors A/C Systems using specific tools (eg. Aviatar, FDM data, ECTM, Labo results), post flight reports & open workorders, to discover negative trends, recurrency or AOG risks.
  • Close follow-up & in-depth screening of MEL Items for next troubleshooting steps.
  • Create, follow-up & solve troubleshooting cases for individual aircraft and repetitive problems, as required.
  • Support the engineering department with field experience.
  • Follow-up of ‘Electronic Pending Shelf’.
  • Brief/debrief line maintenance engineers & mechanics concerning technical problems and actions therefor.
  • Monitors troubleshooting actions performed by maintenance.
  • Recommends and/or supports improvements in close cooperation with Engineering.
  • Takes over troubleshooting ownership in case of non-standard or complex technical irregularities.
  • Records new or complex problems with a final resume (Technical Case Manager).
  • Reports deficiencies or developing fleet wide problems to Engineering.
  • Reports deficiencies in the daily operation to the MCC Manager & Maintenance Controller.
  • Reports organisational, training & development deficiencies within the Troubleshooting department to the P145 Planning Manager.
  • To participate in the continuous improvement process via your superior.

 

Your profile

  • Bachelor degree in Aeronautical, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering OR equivalent relevant experience in aircraft maintenance (EASA Part 66 License)
  • Minimum 5 years of B1/B2 (OR equivalent relevant) experience
  • Good knowledge of EASA Part M, Part-145, Part-66
  • Holder of (active) aircraft type ratings operated by Brussels Airlines is a plus
  • Good communication skills, ability to prioritize, ability to work independently or as part of a team, reliable and motivated, good time management skills
