Purpose of the position

The function of Assistant Duty Manager is two-fold, one part is linked to the passenger coordination cell in which you will function as a team member and as such is directly involved and gives recommendations in the ops decision making process related to the passenger aspect. You will assess and decide about cost-beneficial solutions within the operational & commercial framework achieving a win-win situation for all parties involved. You will assist the Duty Manager in analyzing, deciding and executing the process of actions to be taken throughout all the departments involved (internal and external) and assure correct and complete irregularity handling.

The second aspect is the on-the-field job in which you function as airport coordinator, supervising and coordinating the operations at the airport. You act as representative of the airline towards the passengers. Thus taking commercial and operational decisions in an independent way. In this capacity you intervene also in conflict situations.

Main tasks & responsibilities

Daily follow-up of in- & outbound flights -schedules, catering, aircraft seating versions, passenger numbers which results in optimized rotations both on an operational as on a cost/revenue basis. You will instruct all staff accordingly and function as the communication center and assure follow-up of the correct implementation. The Assistant Duty Manager will decide on any solutions needed to assure punctuality and cost effectiveness in close cooperation with the Duty Manager.
Irregularity handling: rebooking & rerouting of passengers both BRU & outstations. You will evaluate, decide and execute all necessary steps to be taken, both with BRU and outstations. At the same time the Assistant Duty Manager acts as s.p.o.c (single point of contact) for the different operational & commercial reporting lines to assure complete and accurate communication to all involved. You will decide on passengers solutions of commercial or operational decisions, they will contact , inform and take care of the passengers affected. Updating of the different operational systems with information linked to the aircraft rotations to assure all suppliers & handlers have the latest information allowing punctual and correct departures & arrivals.
In case of lost connection you are responsible for re-accommodation of the passengers.
Communication with aircraft ready to land, through VHF or ACARS, informing crew about parking positions, next flights, special cases and transfer passengers on board into BRU as to assure smooth turnarounds within the minimum ground times assuring swift and efficient flows. You provide transfer information for passengers in order to facilitate necessary transfers on ground.
The Assistant Duty Manager sets priorities on all incoming messages. You function as a helpdesk, informing, instructing and advising all Outstations on the different operational & commercial procedures to follow. You will decide on ad-hoc solutions in line with commercial and operational guidelines to assure all outstations compliance and execution with any instruction given by the passenger-coordinator cell.
The Assistant Duty Manager reports on a daily basis on all operational and commercial issues to all departments. You also provide detailed info concerning specific delays ; this is used as feedback to higher management. You will be responsible for the day to day delay setting.
On the field you are responsible for the supervision and organization of the operations flow at the airport. You will collaborate with different parties (ATO, OCC, other airlines) to optimize efficient and correct exchange of information. You resolves independently problems and conflict situations. The assistant Duty Manager can waive penalties and gives compensations in order to preserve 100% customer satisfaction.
The Assistant Duty Manager will manage, supervise and organise ATO.
People Management is key in the role of Assistant Duty Manager. Evaluations and coaching are included in this function.

Purpose of the position

The Cashflow Manager is responsible for the financial reporting of SN’s direct and indirect cashflow including monthly closing, forecasting and yearly budgeting. He / She takes up a key role of managing and improving the company’s liquidity by identifying opportunities to improve mainly the operational cashflows (working capital) and to align with LHG’s overall cashflow strategy.

Your tasks

Operational activities (actuals and forecast) – Direct method

Calculate weekly cashflow performance, highlight major cash inflows and outflows (bank transactions); follow-up on cash-in (sales) flows.
Liaise with Treasury, Accounting and the Business to understand result and upcoming payments / receipts.
Predict future cashflows, cash positions weekly and analyze / improve forecast accuracy.

Operational activities (actuals and forecast) – Indirect method

Own SN’s monthly cashflow reporting based on indirect method (accounting).
Prepare supporting files for understanding closing result (working capital, DSO/DPO, sales).
Collaborate with the different departments in order to stay UpToDate on the actualities, projects impacting cashflow.
Monthly cashflow forecasting based on P&L forecast and assumptions from the Group.
Analyze / improve forecast model and accuracy.
Lead cashflow budgeting process (yearly).

Controlling cash-flow for Aircrafts

Follow-up and report all aircrafts related cash events and items separately.
Lead monthly review meetings with Procurement and Maintenance & Engineering; align on future fleet estimations and costs.

Reporting to SN’s Management and to Group

Provide forecast monthly to LHG for hedging purposes (FIDAX reporting): 24 month forecast per currency & activity.
Report indirect cashflow forecast to the group monthly.
Review and analyze working capital developments, DSO and DPO figures.
Provide explanations for most important evolutions vs. last year & vs. budget.
Reconcile indirect cashflow result with direct cashflow.
Prepare cashflow statements, other financial reports, presentations for management review and decision-making.

Identify & implement levers to improve operational cashflow – working capital

Use cash-flow reporting and forecasting to identify development areas in the area of cashflow optimization, mainly operating cash flow & working capital optimization.
Launch & implement projects within the SN organization to improve cashflow.
Liaise with LHG and align SN cashflow strategy with overall LHG cashflow strategy.

Your profile

Master degree – Accountancy/Finance or equivalent years of experience.
2-5 years work experience in a financial position with a broad understanding of accounting is a must.
Experience in cashflow management and reporting, as well as in a complex international accounting environment is an asset.

Purpose of the position

The Compliance Manager is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining information compliance controls for multiple internal compliance policies (ISO27001 ISMS, GDPR, PCI-DSS, …). The goal is to ensure that the organization, processes and assets are managed in accordance with the Brussels Airlines Compliance Policy as well as international standards, and to maintain compliance risks as low as possible. The manager also supports different business units in defining, implementing and maintaining a compliant organization with regards to the abovementioned policies.

The IT and Ground Operations (GOPS) Compliance Manager have complementary processes to manage in respectively the IT area and the GOPS area. They work closely together and are jointly responsible for the compliance level of Brussels Airlines. They report into IT and GOPS and are each other back up.

Main tasks & responsibilities

As a Compliance Manager you will be responsible for the compliance on ISMS (ISO27001), PCI-DSS, internal procurement policies and GDPR in your respective area (IT or GOPS). Your activities will be as followed:

Support and advise internal stakeholders

Support IT, Ground Operations and relevant business units in the definition and implementation of compliance controls;
Coordinate and monitor the execution of beforementioned controls;
Define, implement and manage corrective actions when applicable;
Provide advice on improvement of existing controls.

Support and guide third party suppliers, handlers and contractors

Development and maintenance of compliance standards

Perform gap analysis to ensure that missing elements are integrated when & where relevant in the existing policies by proposing the necessary changes;
Assure completeness of policies and assure that they are completely enforced in scope of the compliance requirements;
Support IT & Ground Operations in compliance standards and procedures writing and updating, by providing guidance and performing QA.

Audits

Ensure, prepare and lead the relevant audits and compliance verifications.

Reporting

To present the compliance results and remediation actions to the attention of senior management level;
To provide a compliance view (KPIs/ indicators of conformity) towards internal stakeholders and different monitoring bodies.

Your profile

Bachelor degree (or equivalent through experience);

Purpose of the position

The General Manager Sales is responsible for the planning, coordination and management of sales activities in his/her designated country(-ies) or region for LH Group and JVs. Coordination and optimization of non-violent repatriation of inads. Coordination between the Department of Federal Immigration Belgium, the federal police force and the refugee centres. Control of the repatriation of DEPU/DEPA's/assessment of security risks on board concerning the repatriation of such deportees/inads. Contacts with the federal police force or embassies in order to provide a solution (rerouting, application visa, lengthening passport…) in case of non-admitted passengers at a border.
To persuade and stimulate the inads by means of conversations in the closed centres to leave in a voluntary and non-violent manner in conformity with the company policy concerning non-violent repatriation.
To check and report all ongoing procedures concerning Aviation Security as imposed by the Head of Security & Contingency in order to ensure the compliance with the procedures.
To execute accompaniment flights as Accompanying Security officer (passport control, aviation security) in case of increased threat, problem in the outstations or on board.
Training and coaching of outstations. Every PSI acts as coach to assigned outstations concerning passport control. Detecting problems at an early stage through analysis and close follow up, and searching for solutions. Therefore regular contacts, visits and training in the outstations with both local staff and third companies are arranged.
To carry out missions, short and long period, abroad as SSO (station Security officer) in order to guarantee the security of Brussels Airlines operations in the outstations, for both aviation security and passport control.

Purpose of the position

The Resource Planning Manager Ground Services manages the resource planning cycle for all BRU-based ground services within Brussels Airlines as team lead, as well as leading the dispatch office for Pax Service/HCC/PRC. In doing so, he/she is responsible for making sure that operational staff needs are at all times covered, and that operational staff is utilized in the most effective and efficient manner.

Main tasks & responsibilities

Determination of FTE needs for all ground operational departments

Forecast the long-term and medium-term FTE needs given altering scenarios, based on changes in business requirements (network, flight schedule, product offering, etc.).
Monitor FTE fluctuation through time, and provide proposals regarding required training and/or hiring needs.
Pro-actively keep abreast changes in social law and applicable labour rulings which might impact the long- to short-term planning, rostering and utilization of our workforce. Align with key stakeholders and interfaces (a.o. HR, IT, Health & Safety) on relevant topics.
Pro-actively remain informed on commercial and operational business decisions that might impact the long- to short-term planning, rostering and utilization of our workforce.

Manage the production of efficient and effective rosters for ground operational departments

Manage and oversee the creation of cyclical/monthly rosters for all BRU-based GOPS staff.
Make sure rosters are consistently published on time, with adequate notice time to staff, following made agreements.
Align with team leads and department heads to co-determine appropriate, effective staffing levels.
Determine and provide an optimal shift planning in coordination with team leads and rostering team.
Safeguard operational staffing needs, making sure all business requirements are met, whilst taking into account individual employment wishes.
Ensure that any license and training requirements are adequately rostered.
Plan and approve holiday slots.

Manage the day-to-day optimization of workforce planning, ensuring operational/business requirements are met

Manage the dispatch office for Pax Services/HCC/PRC on a day-to-day basis, making sure the operational staff is scheduled real time in the most efficient manner.
Manage the cost efficient utilization and allocation of airport check-in desks and information screens.
Maintain regular communication with key stakeholders in the BRU airport community.
Find appropriate solutions in case of last-minute deviations from the plan/roster, such as changes in production plan/flight schedule or colleagues becoming indisposed.

IT Systems Management

Drive and follow up improvement projects to ensure that the most efficient procedures and technologies are applied.
Act as system administrator of the planning, rostering and dispatching applications, tools and affiliated interface connections.
Interact with the different systems providers and IT to coordinate and follow-up on the resolution of issues, development of new tools, and implementation of patches and upgrades.

Reporting

Actively track and report on changes in workforce costs and potential deviations from budgeted FTE targets, optimal contract mix, and/or optimal skill mix.
Actively track and report on workforce utilization and retention rates.
Monitor and report on deviations between made staff/work assumptions, scenarios and reality.
Seek operational optimization opportunities by cross-referencing workforce planning data with other business related data sets.
Make sure different stakeholders are properly informed on workforce planning and rostering topics. Investigate and report on related inquiries from a.o. works council (OR), trade union delegation (SD), body for health and safety (CPBW), management (SN/LHG).

People Management

Manage the rostering and dispatch department on a day-to-day basis.

Your profile

Technical Secondary Education level A2 Electric, Electromechanics, Mechanic or equivalent by experience
Experience in aircraft or component maintenance is an asset.

Your tasks

Leadership in Procurement Projects and Tenders:

Supplier Management and Negotiation:

Lead supplier management activities for Construction suppliers, including the negotiation of supply concepts for the aftermarket.

Reporting and Analysis:

Your responsibilities

Ensures communication links between the P145 Operation Manager, MCC Manager, Maintenance Controller (MCC), Engineering, Planning, Training & Maintenance Engineers.

Provides technical assistance to flight crew and maintenance staff.

Support the engineering department with field experience.
Follow-up of ‘Electronic Pending Shelf’.
Brief/debrief line maintenance engineers & mechanics concerning technical problems and actions therefor
Monitors troubleshooting actions performed by maintenance
Recommends and/or supports improvements in close cooperation with Engineering
Takes over troubleshooting ownership in case of non-standard or complex technical irregularities
Records new or complex problems with a final resume (Technical Case Manager)
Reports deficiencies or developing fleet wide problems to Engineering.
Reports deficiencies in the daily operation to the MCC Manager & Maintenance Controller.
Reports organisational, training & development deficiencies within the Troubleshooting department to the P145 Planning Manager.

Your profile

Bachelor degree in Aeronautical, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering OR equivalent relevant experience in aircraft maintenance (EASA Part 66 License)
Minimum 5 years of B1/B2 (OR equivalent relevant) experience
Good knowledge of EASA Part M, Part-145, Part-66
Holder of (active) aircraft type ratings operated by Brussels Airlines is a plus
